Paul H. Welch

Paul H. Welch is the son of the late founding pastor, D. L. Welch. He preached his first revival at age 16 and traveled as an evangelist until age 26, when he became Associate Pastor of First Pentecostal Church.  He married Shirley Ann Lane of Montgomery, Alabama, in 1959.

In 1975 Paul Welch became Pastor of FPC and in 2000, brought onto the staff his successor, Brian Kinsey.  The influence of the Welches reaches far beyond the doors of First Pentecostal Church of Pensacola. Brother Welch served on the District Board of the Florida District United Pentecostal Church for more than thirty years, and remains an honorary board member, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Lighthouse Ranch for Boys in Hammond, Louisiana.

Shirley Lane Welch is the author of two books: Mothers Against the Devil, and The Preacher’s Wife, and has also recorded a CD;  Standing in the Presence of the King.

Paul Welch retired in 2007 and remains Pastor Emeritus of FPC Pensacola.
